JDES Inter-School Essay Writing and Story Writing Competition
St. Aloysius School, Gaur Jabalpur conducted Inter School English
Essay and Story Writing Competition on 14 th October, 2023 in the lieu of
the Sesquicentennial celebration of St. Aloysius Sr. Sec. School, Cantt
Jabalpur. The competition was conducted for two categories i.e. Essay
writing for classes V to VII and Story Writing for classes VIII to IX.
Two participants from each school took part, one student for each
category. The in-charges for the program were Mrs. Linda Soji and Mrs.
Shiny Joseph.
The reporting time for the competition was 9:30 a.m. and each school
was supposed to register by 10:00a.m. Altogether five schools
participated in the literary event – St. Aloysius Sr. Sec. School Cantt,
St. Aloysius Sr. Sec. School, Polipather, St. Aloysius Sr. Sec.School,
Rimjaha, St. Thomas Hr. Sec.School, Cantt, St. Aloysius School, Gaur.
The program began at sharp 10:00 a.m. with the introduction of the
judges followed by the lighting of the lamp. The judges for the event
were Rev. Fr. Thomas Antony O Prem , Director of Jogini Vocational
Training Center, Jabalpur from Jamtara, Ms. Christine Elis (retired
Principal, Little Kingdom Sr. Sec. School), Mrs. Navdeep Kaur (Teacher
at St. Joseph’s Convent, TFRI). The Principal of the school Sr. Ambily
Jose welcomed the participants and the escort teachers then she picked a
slip from the lot and announced the topic of the Story Writing
Competition i.e. ‘Inspiration’. The topic for English writing was
‘Technology in Education’.
Prayer is the key of the day. The program proceeded with prayers to the
Almighty seeking His blessings. Thereafter the participants were
introduced and the rules were announced. The participants for Essay
Writing and Story Writing Competition proceeded to class IXth .The
competition began at 10:30 a.m. The participants of both the categories
were allotted time limit of one hour.
Several programs like prayer dance, instrumental performance, and
motivational video for entertainment were organized along with
refreshments for the audience during the evaluation time. The Principal
of the school Sr. Ambily Jose declared the results and congratulated all
the participants for taking initiative to be a part of the event. ________
The Staff Secretary Ms. Amreen Ansari extended sincere vote of thanks
to all who were a part of the literary event. The program was a success
under the guidance of the Principal of the school.
